Nusrat murder case in Feni: Principal Siraj sentenced to death
The court has ordered the death sentence of Feni's son-in-law, Nusrat Jahan Rafi, in connection with the murder of Fazil Madrasah, the principal of Islamogia Islamia.

Judge Mamunur Rashid of Feni's Women and Child Abuse Tribunal will announce the verdict on Thursday.

The deceased are - Sirajuddaula, Nur Uddin, Shahadat Hossain Shamim, Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasah Principal, Saxur Alam, Saifur Rahman Mohammad Zaber, Hafed Abed, Kader Abed, Kader Abed, Kader Abed, and Jafed Abed. Popi alias Tuhin alias Shampa alias Champa, Abdur Rahim Sharif, Iftekhar Uddin Rana, Moran Mamun Hossain, Mohammad Shamim, vice-president of the governing body of the madrassa Ruhul Amin and Mohiuddin Shakeel.

Earlier, the accused was brought from the jail to the court.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi was an alumni of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil Madrasah. Sirajuddaula, the principal of the madrasa, called her to his room and sexually harassed her.

Rafi's mother Shirin Akhter filed the case with Sonagazi Police Station on March 25. Police arrested the principal. Later, the family threatened to take up the case in various ways.

Rafi went to the madrassa center to test the first letter of Alim-level Arabic on April 7 at 8am. At that time, some people dressed in burqa called him to the roof of the adjoining building and pressured him to withdraw the case against the principal. If they do not agree, they put Kerosene on Rafi and set him on fire.

Rafi's entire body burned in it. He died while undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 7:30 pm. Nusrat's elder brother filed a case with Sonagazi Model Police Station on April 5.

In the Rafi murder case, Police and Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Principal Sirajuddaula arrested 20 people from different places. Later on May 27, the PBI filed a five-page charge sheet against the accused.

Of the eight accused in the charge sheet, 12 have given confessional statements in court.

On May 5, the case was transferred to Feni's Women and Children Abuse Prevention Tribunal. The trial began on June 7 when the court took up the case. On June 25, the trial court framed charges against four of them.

The trial began on June 23 and June 7, after the plaintiff Mahmudul Hasan Noman was arrested. Of the 12 witnesses, 4 testified in court.
